Did I miss the memo? I don’t remember seeing any kimonos last year, and now everyone seems to be wearing them. And, yes I am dating myself by using the word memo. When is the last time you actually saw a memo on anything? But, back to the kimono kraze; I love them! They are super easy to wear, and add, color, texture and interest to an outfit. They also do a great job of kamouflaging any areas on your body in need of kamouflage. Here I am at Eva’s Bakery enjoying my koffee in my sassy kimono. So, join the kimono kraze, and I promise I’ll stop replacing my “c’s” with “k’s”. Scroll down for shopping info.
Kimono (click here) is from H&M. It’s only $24.95, and now through the end of May you can trade a bag of old clothes to H&M for a 20% off coupon. Pants (click here) are from Loft.
Just one quick pic today because I forgot to include the bird poop incident in my “Carpe Denim” post. At the beginning of this shoot, a bird pooped on the back of my head and the front of my blouse! My mother always told me that it was good luck if a bird pooped on you. But, now I’m wondering if she made that up because I’ve had more than my fair share of birds poop on me. The good news is that you can’t actually see the poop on the blouse, but I’ve circled the spot. Trust me, I didn’t photo shop it out because I have no idea how to do that.
Anyway, glad I forgot to mention the whole bird poop incident because it gives me another opportunity to plug this blouse (click here). Doesn’t look like it’s available in this color anymore at Loft, but there are 4 other great colors.
Black and white always works. It’s timeless, classy, and current. Plus, you always look put together in black and white. Even if I’m not in the market for another white blouse, if I come across one that fits well and is nicely priced, I buy it. Seems that no matter how I do my laundry, white only stays white for so long. So, don’t spend a lot of money on a white blouse, and do replace one that is looking grey or yellow. Scroll down to the end of the photos for shopping info on this great white blouse find (the pants are pretty reasonable too).
Ladder lace softened shirt (click here) from Loft is $44.99 and then 60% off (that’s $18.00!). Tech stretch skinny pants (click here) from Loft are $69.50 and then 40% 0ff (okay, I’ll do the math again, that’s $41.70)
This is one of my oldest friends and newest clients. She flew out to Salt Lake for a shopping trip, and we found some great stuff. Here she is before we went shopping:
Well, she’s adorable and the outfit is totally fine. But, that’s all it is, just fine. I love the colored denim, not necessarily with the brown booties, and the grey top is nothing memorable. Overall, no major fashion blunders. If you saw her walking down the street you might think, “Beautiful woman, but that outfit is pretty boring.”
So, we went to City Creek Center in downtown Salt Lake and totally scored. Here she is modeling a new outfit:
Now you can see how truly gorgeous she is. The skirt from Loft (click here) shows off her long legs and the blouse from Banana Republic (click here) is simple, but has enough detail to be interesting. I thought it was cute tucked in or out. So, now what would you think if you saw her walking down the street?
Yes, those are the same pants I was wearing on yesterday’s post. When I become a super famous fashion blogger, (wish you could hear the sarcasm in my voice!) I won’t wear the same thing twice. For now, however, I’ll admit to wearing the same pants two days in a row. As you can see I’ve paired them with this spectacular jacket from H&M. For shopping info scroll down to end of the photos.
Jacquard weave jacket (click here) available at H&M. Jeans (click here) available at Zara, and denim shirt is not current but (click here) for similar.
