I am not ready for summer to end. Retailers are really pushing their fall lines, but it’s still 90 degrees here! Why are we rushing the end of summer? There are still weeks left of barbecues, swimming, and ice cream. I don’t want to think about wool, sweaters, or jackets right now. On the other hand, I am willing to break out a pair of Frye boots and pair them with a summery dress. I think this outfit screams summer, but I have to admit it will transition nicely into the fall. Don’t get me wrong, I love fall, just not when it interferes with my summer.
I found this dress on the clearance rack at Target, but there are tons of printed casual dresses available online. Check out Madewell.com , OldNavy.com, and Loft.com. I think all of these dresses would be great with boots and a scarf. Similar Frye boots available at 6pm.com.
Yes, I agree, my frients (friends/clients) all seem to be unusually attractive. This frient is a dream to style. Of course it doesn’t hurt that she is beautiful and happens to be a personal trainer, fitness/Pilates/spin instructor and marathon runner (wait, don’t let me forget triathlete!). So, truly everything she tries on looks great on her. Read more
White t-shirts have become my summer uniform. Unfortunately, they never last very long. I either stain them or before I know it, they have turned yellow, so I only buy inexpensive white tees. This lacy tank was on sale at Loft and is perfect for enjoying French pastries on a lazy summer morning. And, believe it or not, I’m in Salt Lake City, not Paris.
This tank is not on the Loft website, but check your local store. Or look at this similar one from Anthropologie (click here). The pants are also from Anthropologie, but many years ago. For a similar pant try Express (click here)
Recently, J.Crew devotees have expressed concern with the quality, fit, and design of J.Crew’s spring and fall lines. But, a few posts ago, I urged you not to end your relationship with J.Crew. If you need further convincing, just check out this skirt. Read more
Somehow this has become spring jacket week. I guess that’s appropriate because it is spring, and I’ve been wearing jackets. I like this one from Loft because it’s pretty light, but still keeps you warm on windy spring days. The fabric isn’t too stiff. Hmmm, that’s probably why Loft named it the Drapey Cargo Jacket.
Honestly, there is no good reason for me to be sitting in the flower bed. Except, those are spring flowers and I am wearing a spring jacket.
Drapey Cargo Jacket (click here) available at Loft. The entire store/site is 40% off. Jeans (click here) available at Macy’s.
